How To: Hair Mask

Everyone loves a good hair day. After cutting a significant amount of hair off, I said goodbye to several inches of split ends and hello to short, healthy hair. However, after several weeks of using heat and styling products, my hair looked tired and dry. Cue the miracle hair mask! I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about TheBroot, a salon in Santa Monica that uses “simple and raw organic ingredients to treat your hair.” Treatments start at $35. Good news: there is no need to spend $35… it is so easy to make at home. The best part? Everything is already in your kitchen. NOTE: This mask will not magically transform your locks into Julianne Moore’s silky tresses (I wish), but it helps restore the hair’s natural properties.

1/2 Avocado (If you have thin hair, trade out the avocado for a banana)

1 Egg

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

1 tablespoon Honey

*Mix and comb through DAMP hair. Cover hair with a shower cap (VERY IMPORTANT). Shampoo after 20 minutes.
