the Top Shelf: Fall 2013

IMG_4173Disclaimer: My medicine cabinet never really looks this clean. I may have done some housekeeping.

My bathroom and vanity have a constant stream of products going through them. In reality, All You Need is Blush is just an excuse for my addiction to beauty and hair products. “It’s for the blog…” is an excuse I use far too often, but I digress. I’m introducing a new series of posts that showcases my medicine cabinet essentials every season. Title name c/o the fantastic Into the Gloss.

This bumble and bumble hairspray is not my favorite thing ever, but that’s what I get for impulsively purchasing it at Sephora. On the flip side, this Caudalíe Grape Water Mist is divine. Spray whenever you need a quick pick me up. Another new favorite is  evo Easy Tiger Straightening Balm. It smells great and is the perfect pre-blow out product. Batiste is an old favorite. It’s inexpensive and smells fresh.

I hope you all put sunscreen on every. single. day. It is a great habit to get into (you’ll thank me 30 years from now). This Clarins version is definitely my favorite because you can wear it easily under your makeup, and it doesn’t feel like you have a layer of SPF on. I could talk about Eve Lom for days (expect a dedicated post soon). Long story short, it has the texture of butter and is used with a cloth. I use it to remove my makeup at night. This Joico pomade is great for taming any stray hairs. Ahh, Ole. You know how to make a good skin product. Ole Henrikson’s Walnut Scrub is heavenly. For best results, use twice a week.

Read more about the benefits of coconut oil here. I really love this Clearogen Acne Set. It helped my skin drastically in about a month, along with VitaMedica skin supplements. Warning: it is very strong. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend talking to your dermatologist first. Everyone knows I love St. Tropez. Best self-tanner, period. Another great Boscia product. This mask is the perfect pick me up.
