Please, please, PLEASE try to stay out of the sun. Put away your baby oil and just buy some self-tanner, ok?
But it’s really not that easy. Self-tanning can become a degrading task in which the victim emerges looking like an extra in Willy Wonka, a Kardashian, or both.
Since it’s that awkward time of year where your legs are just emerging from a long winter hidden by pants and tights, may I recommend some of my stand-by tanning favorites?
Sally Hansen Leg Makeup is by far the most user-friendly tanning product on the market. I spray a little into the palm of my hand and blend well into my leg. Sometimes I cheat and put a little on my chest, too. Also, it’s cheap.
St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse is the next step in the program. It’s a little more complicated, a little more expensive, but it lasts much longer. This requires a mitt (and probably a partner) to ensure a splotch-free application. I prefer to apply this at night then rinse in the morning to remove excess product.
Note: I have discussed both of these products before. Actually, multiple times. Are you sold yet?
