Event Skin: The Good, the Bad, and the Glowing

Event Skin All You Need is BlushI’m always in the mood for a little pampering, but my calendar for the next month is insane, and requires a lot of beauty TLC. The next week on AYNIB will be strictly event prep posts.  So light your favorite Diptyque candle and get your Sephora shopping cart ready.

EXFOLIATE

Exfoliate before you apply your makeup. Our people have been doing it since the beginning of time (not really) to get the perfect canvas for that little thing we call makeup. Make your own at home or use your favorite. Anything that will remove the dead layer of skin residing on your face will do.

Dior Glow Maximizer All You Need is BlushPRIME + ILLUMINATE

You’ve got a long night ahead of you, so you’ll definitely need some staying power. Exfoliate, moisturize, and prime. That’s your mantra tonight. Glowing is made possible by Dior’s Glow Maximizer Primer, which PRIMES and ILLUMINATES. #REVOLUTIONARY. Other notable mentions: Bare Minerals Prime Time (mattifies) and NARS Light Optimizing Primer (glow, baby, glow). Also, if you can get your hands on the elusive Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream… please send me a sample.

Sunday Riley + Clé de Peau All You Need is BlushCONCEAL

Who gets sleep these days? Ha… ha… I feel like my dark circles grow exponentially, so I rely on my trusty concealer/ eye cream duo. The back of your hand is your palette tonight. Mix a tiny bit of eye cream (Sunday Riley= magic) and concealer and lightly pat it on with your finger. If you need a little extra coverage, dab a little more concealer on. Using your finger again, lightly pat a little translucent powder to prevent creasing.

Diorskin Airflash Foundation All You Need is BlushFOUNDATION

Special events require the big guns, or in other words, airbrush. I’m devoted to Diorskin Airflash (review HERE). No matter what foundation your using, apply it with a synthetic brush. And make sure it’s CLEAN. After, use a fluffy powder brush and lightly tap the product onto your t-zone.
