The Art of Decompressing

My life consists of a constant stream of assignments, exams, and calendars.

It’s easy to get caught up in petty tasks, and I find myself forgetting that there is a world outside of South Bend, Indiana.

Mornings are usually rushed, so any semblance of a routine is usually thrown out of the window when I snooze multiple alarms. Therefore, my bedtime routine is sacred.

After a long day, we all need time to decompress. Whether that means listening to a little Frank Ocean or meditating, bedtime should be a time to reflect on the day and prepare yourself for the day ahead.

Weleda Skin Food : Available at Whole Foods, and under $20. This thick cream is uber-hydrating, making it perfect for use before bed. Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset

Tiny Tea Teatox : I’ve raved about Tiny Tea before, with good reason. It seems to cure a variety of ailments, from pesky breakouts to bloating. I recommend drinking a cup before bed.IMG_0592

Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Pillow Spray : I am the sucker that buys pillow spray. I know, not entirely practical but it makes bedtime a little more luxurious.IMG_0593

Bowers and Wilkens Headphones : Ooh la la. I’m no techie, but I appreciate a nice pair of headphones. These are the bomb. I did a lot of headphone research, and these received glowing reviews. IMG_0590

Lipbalm: Pick your poison. I’m currently partial to the By Terry Baume de Rose, but Pawpaw ointment is just as good.Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset

Attached is a great video about stress. It’s a must watch.
