It’s natural to associate Old Navy with patriotic flip flops and inexpensive tanks. But, a recent turnaround in creative administration caught my attention, and eventually led me to wander in to an Old Navy for a little market research.
Much to my surprise, I walked out of the store with a bag full of summer staples, including a slew of button downs. Why pay $70+ for an oversized button down at Madewell when I can get an identical piece at Old Navy for under $20?
I live in the “Classic” style shirt, which is perfectly loose and can be work with jeans or thrown over a bathing suit. My chambray version bears an uncanny resemblance to an unreasonably priced Rag & Bone number I bought last summer, and gets significantly more wear time.
Do yourself a favor and get over to an Old Navy. The “Classic” shirt comes in numerous patterns and materials, and will no doubt become a staple in your closet.
