Is it worth the hype? That was my initial question, and I’m sure many people are feeling the same way.
There are so many stellar products on the market, but it’s virtually impossible for a foundation to make us appear like we’re out of a Chanel ad. One, we don’t want to look like a cakey-Kardashian and two, real life Photoshop doesn’t exist. So is “airbrush foundation” really worth the splurge?
Yes, but not for the conventional reason. Foundation that is sprayed directly on the face is not as precise (no matter what the Temptu airbrush saleswoman tells you) as a brush, and if you’re not a professional, it can be disastrous.
Why buy it? It’s just good foundation.
Diorskin Airflash Spray Foundation is the winner. Its $62 price tag means it’s not for everyday use. However, when you pull it out for a special occasion, it’s a showstopper. This is the first foundation I’ve tried that is actually full coverage and long-lasting, yet looks like a second skin.
HOW TO APPLY: Spray about a quarter size into a PLASTIC CUP, and use a synthetic makeup brush to apply. You may need to spray a little more into the cup depending on how much coverage you need, but don’t go overboard. Why the cup? You don’t lose any of the valuable product, and it makes for an easy application.
Honestly, your life can go on without an airbrush foundation in your makeup drawer. But, I highly recommend it if you have a special event(s) coming up, and need to do your own makeup (and do it well).
